Heliobacter pylori is a bacteria which thrives in our stomach. It’s common in about 50% of the world population and it is the main common cause of bacterial infections.
Heliobacter often causes just an irritation of the stomach wall and we don’t even notice it.
But in some cases it can cause a stomach ulcer, or worse – eventually stomach cancer.
As said – H.Pylori is very common worldwide. It can be traced in about 30% of people 60 years of age and older (Netherlands).
It is diagnosed by bloodtest, faecestest, breathtest or gastroscopy.
Gastroscopy is the most reliable test. They take a biopt by laparascopy (keyhole operation).
In conventional medicine they prescribe antibiotics and gastric acid suppressants(antacids).
However, there are alternative possibilities to decrease the symptoms.
In Japanese research we read positive results about the use of Co-enzyme Q10 – it has a protective influence on the mucus membrane of the stomach.
Astaxanthine is a substance that supports healing stomach inflammation. A high concentration is found in the micro-alga Haematococcus pluvialis.
Probiotics can be helpful in stomach complaints, but not every probiotic is effective.
Examples of strains which are effective in H.Pylori:
Lactobacillus acidophilus La5, L.acidophilus LA-5, L.rhamnosisus GG, LGG.
The quality of probiotics depends on the stability in the package, the ability of the probiotic -bacteriae to multiply in the intestines and the effectiveness in the body.
That’s why it is important to know which gender(Lactobacillus), race (Acidophilus) and strain(La5) is written on the package you buy.
Moderate intake of citrusfruits, especially oranges.
Avoid cow’s milk and wheat.
Avoid fried food and meat.
Use Kuzu. It’s a natural binding agent which is soothing and healing on the mucus membrane of the stomach. (available in Health Food Stores)
Take herbal tea for your stomach, like Calendula, Chamomille, Fenugreekseed, Cat’s claw, Achillea Millefolium, Angelica root and Hop cones.
Avoid drinking cold water.
Moderate use of raw foods, salads.
Eat fruit separate from every meal! Take fruit preferably 1 hour before – or minimum 2 hours after a meal.
When there is too little stomach acidproduction, take Molkosan, or diluted applecider vinegar or lemonjuice before a meal. It helps the digestion.
