The pill changes everything
Natural hormonal balance
In a natural hormonal balance the ovulation cycle in women has 2 parts:
1. Mainly oestrogen influence, the goal is: conception. It starts on first day of menstruation.
2. Mainly progesteron influence, the goal is : implantation, starts on day of ovulation.
In first part of the cycle women have more desire for sex (high oestrogen). More attention for appearance (to look attractive for men). In the second part women experience a more calming effect with generally higher food intake (to provide good circumstances for implantation).
Since evolution it has been important for women to have influence on becoming pregnant – or not, because it takes 9 months to carry a baby, it has huge health consequences for her, and it takes a lot of effort to raise a child.
Genetically it is also important to attract a healthy man with the best possible genes that match her own genetic frame to get healthy children. It’s important to get a man with a different genetic immunity frame than herself, because this results in a child with a strong immunity system.
The brain has the capacity to recognize the right type of man for every specific woman.
For men it has never been important to worry much about genes or choosing the right partner. They could/can have sex with anyone, anytime….
Women are automatically (biologically) aligned to strong kind of men (oestrogen loves testosteron!) in the first part of their cycle.
In the second part of their cycle (progesteron) they are aligned to the more caring, secure type of men and preparing their own body for implantation: for example to take enough rest, have a higher food intake.
Summarizing:
Since evolution we observe two behaviour-patterns in the female cycle:
- Oestrogen: attracted to strong, social dominant males, who can provide biologically strong genes. Focus on conceiving a healthy child.
- Progesteron: attracted to caring, trustworthy male, who can provide a secure home for a family. Focus on preparing a good home.
In the first oestrogen) part of cycle women have high libido, a specific body-odor (to attract males) and appearance, even her voice is different, they react in a specific way to all kind of situations, her senses are sharp: sense of smell (to track the right male!), sense of hearing, seeing, also memory and emotions act differently in this period of time.
In the second (progesteron) part of cycle women have less desire for sex, are more focussed on security, safety, home, a calm rythm, food intake …The brain, neurotransmitters (messengers for the brain) and hormones are all involved together.
The pill changes everything…
When taking the pill to prevent a pregnancy, it affects the whole biological system.
We cannot take hormones for just one cause – hormones affect total body and mind!
The pill prevents a high oestrogen-peak and causes a unbalanced oxytocin-level, results in less free testosteron. In short: the total hormone-profile changes.
This results generally in low libido and women who do not ‘recognise’ the right genetic frame in a male for a strong offspring.
Her body-odor changes, cortisol management changes – which means problems with stress, memory, learning capacity, social functioning.
There is higher risk for depression, anxiety, suicide. Especially in young women (15-19 years), because their brain is not fully developed yet.
Suppression of cortisolmanagement and a changed cortisol-rythm means higher risk on auto-immune diseases. 78% of auto-immune disease patients are female.
Women on the pill observe the world differently, are more focussed on career, financial security, stability. This has effect on their environment. The pill even changes the way men react to a woman.
It has to do (among other things) with the body odor of a woman using the pill.
And…. because of less risk that their partner falls pregnant from another ‘dominant’ male, they don’t need to quard their wifes!
As time progressed male behaviour has reacted to the fact that women are using the pill.
In evolution the female sets the standard and the male had to comply with that. Since the pill men do not have to impress or conquer females anymore. And if men don’t have to do anything specific to achieve a partner, this is exactly what happens.
Nowadays women have higher education, choose men of their own intelligence ‘level’ (and these are fewer these days), have sex with everyone regardless wanting children or not, or stay single and be independent.
Side effects
In the past 25 years fertility industry has quadrupled, because women are putting of a family untill in their thirties, or experience trouble falling pregnant after stopping the pill.
Other side effects:
- SNS (sympatic nerve system) stays activated (fight- or flight mode).
- HPA (hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenalgland system) is chronically activated. A cause of mental health problems, cardiovascular- digestion and immune systemproblems.
- Neurotransmitter system, esp. GABA-receptors are not stimulated by synthetic progesteron.
If GABA-receptors in cells are not stimulated, you become anxious, depressed, irritated. - Dopamine, serotoninelevels are changed.
- High CBC (corticosteroid binding globuline) in the liver = less cortisol response to stress.
Even though the pill has given the possibilty to choose a career and plan a family in your own time, it is wise tot think carefully about using it.
When starting the pill :
- Keep a diary. Start 2-3 months prior taking the pill, so you can notice the difference in yourself (mood, energy, wellbeing).
- Inform a close friend, or your mother that you start using the pill. They can observe any change in your normal behaviour.
High risk for side effects:
- History of depression, psychological disorders
- Family with psychological disorders connected to the pill
- Pill with only progestin
- Combination pill (increasing amount of hormones)
- Younger than 19 years old
Research on conventional medicine is usually done on healthy, young men. In women they have to deal with natural changes in the hormonal cycle. It makes research outcome less trustworthy, it’s time-consuming and expensive, so all together less attractive.
The information about the huge impact of taking hormones is from experience of generations women using the pill.
